In my case, Verapamil starts working in the first week. I normally take 240 mg Calan once a day. My neurologist told me to give it 2 weeks, but it kicks in rather quickly for me. She first gave me 180 mg which didn't work and upped to 240 mg. Yes, Verapamil is my friend. I don't know if the body weight is a determining factor for the dosage, but the blood pressure is. I'm now down to 180 mg, hoping to taper off.
