In answer to your first question, I'm going for an MRI (with MRA) this afternoon, so I'll know a little bit more then (at least, I hope so).

I distinguish two kinds of headaches, although they both start out the same. The 48 hour ones are the 8-9 Kip scale ones. But now that I think about it, it does fluctuate, because sometimes I get the feeling, 'hey, I'm winning' and then whammo, it hits again. I always thought this was just the rise and fall of the effectiveness of the aspirin, blunting the edge so to speak. And they always fade slowly, with long, long, lingering shadows (that's when I have to be REALLY careful about odors and alcohol). These usually only happen every two to three months.

The other kind, the daily drivers, are usually in the 3-4 range, although again, when I was reading that, I was reminded that about two weeks ago I woke up every night with a headache - sometimes a 6 (go back to sleep) sometimes a 7 (might as well get up, cause it just hurts). However, a dose of aspirin and a one or two hour wait usually knocked these out.....hmmmm, this _is_ sounding more like the patterns I've been reading about here.

But that leads me back to one of my original questions: is there such a thing as mild CHs? As long as the dailys don't slide into a 48-hr one, they have never exceeded a 7 on the scale. Or can I expect it just to get worse with time?

I just gotta repeat myself, the information on this site is incredible!

My thanks, Selene
