I was diagnosed with "migraines" as a young child, something that was passed down from my mother. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with "clusters." The difference?
with migraines:
majority of the time I have nausea
light/sounds bother me greatly
quiet/dark room is mandatory
moving just intensifies the pain
usually have an "aura" (with me it's zig zag lines in my field of vision)
tunnel vision (10 minutes before migraine)
numbness in my right hand
on a scale of 1 to 10, my migraines are usually in the 9 to 10 region. (shot of demarol usually does the trick)
clusters:
intense pain (icepick like) on the right side of my temple
nose begins to run
right eye waters like crazy
burning sensation on my right side
can't sit still, usually end up banging my head on the floor.
Hope this helps!
keep the faith
