Wendy,I just finshed 11 weeks of that pain and I know first hand what your husband felt when storming into that docs. office begging for pain meds. to get you out of that kind of pain.
We just went through that kind of bull shit.Then my husband went to the world wide net to educate himself when asking for certain meds. and why they won't give us what we have taken in the past. My husband could not belieave his eyes when he found the migrain board.You would have thought he hit a gold mine until he seen another board called clusterheadaches. Much to his suprise when going through the guess book found many people describing me.He stayed up most of that night to educate himself. Our next visit to the docs. office was not to see how I was doing.My husband had educated himself with the meds.that had been sucess stories and could these meds. be one of our options. By all means we don't want the doc. to feel he is not doing his job.We started the converstation by saying with no disrespect to your knowledge of medicine doc. we want to have your imput about these meds. We must have said something right because when we left his office we had the meds. we needed.At first they had given me Benadryl to help me sleep.That was a joke.Sleep through that kind of pain with that med. I don't think so. We asked about Elavil.I'll be damed if we got it and I was able to at least sleep through most of the pain attacts which saved my injections of imitrex for the worst attacts. Doc. still must have been listening b
