Every single time I've been unfortunate enough to to get struck down in public, I've felt like that. The one time I got hit really, really bad and was stupid enough to ask for help from whomever happened to pass by, I was treated like just another crazy bag lady let out of the hospital too soon. An amazing doorman at a posh hotel recognized the seriousness and hailed a cab for me. I wrote his employers and sent him an embarrassing array of flowers. The hotel called me to thank me for going to the trouble of letting them know what sort of person he is. He was given a bonus and a commendation. In my opinion, he deserved it. I don't know where I would have wound up if not for him. I was red faced for days. Yeah, I think we all know.
