Here's what I do when Mike is really at the peak of his cycle. I know that his headaches last about an hour. I watch the clock. I tell myself, "Ok, it's been 30 minutes. 30 minute to go." "Ok, 50 minutes - only 10 more minutes."
You must know how long your mom's attacks last and how often they come. Try it. If she wants you with her, tell her, "OK, Mom, you've gone about 40 minutes, only 20 more minutes." Believe me, it helps.
Then, when she is going to start going into remission, you'll notice that she will "skip" a headache. She'll still get some but they'll come further and further apart.
I know you're both going through a rough time, but try the clock thing. It really helps me to remind myself that these attacks DO end. You both will survive them.
Hugs, Jessica, hang in there. We love ya.
