PLEASE get the little guy to a well-established neurologist, pediatric neurology specialist if your area provides that degree of focus
sure sounds more like acute migraine, or something similar, than CH -
6 hour duration
vomiting
stays in bed
those all are usually pretty good signs it ISN'T Cluster Headache, but IS what you hear about some forms of migraines - and they're VERY VERY different maladies
cluster headaches are NOT simply a series of repetitive bad migraines, they are very different in many ways - - - I'll go out on a limb here - if anybody starts blending/overlapping migraine & CH, or starts talking about "cluster migraines", get the hell away from them, - whether your problem is CH or M - either way, they aren't up to speed !
it's a strange thing, for decades most DRs never heard of cluster headache and lots of people were given faulty diagnoses of other ailments,
now it looks like many many DRs are "jumping on the bandwagon" and diagnosing ANYTHING they can't figure out as Cluster Headache - this is an equally negligient approach, because CH is a SPECIFIC disease, not just a catchall term for repetitive bad headaches - and the physiology, treatment, etc are very different for the different diseases - so it's just the other side of a bad coin !!!!!!
