I also get pain, and at times swelling around my eye after a serious episode. Jaw and neck pain for me is associated with tightening of those muscles when in the throes of an attack. For relief, I have found that an ice cube-or better yet, those re-freezable ice cubes wrapped in a paper towel help with the pain during an attack (sometimes), and with the pain and sweling afterward. When the CH is less than a "7", I can usually manage to think about relaxing my muscles. Any more than that, and it's harder to think about relaxing. Best of luck.
