For what it's worth, my doctor's strategy with the prednisone was to hold the beast at bay until the verapamil took hold. The prednisone definitely held the beast at bay for me, but 1 week wasn't long enough for the verapamil to start working. Could I have avoided the 2 weeks of hell had he kept me on prednisone for 3 weeks? I'll never know. In any case, it appears that you may be on the same path that I was. I hope that the verapamil works for you and has taken effect when the prednisone stops. Just in case this doesn't work, I recommend that you try to get access to some additional abortive options.
