Like Bob P. said, "We've all been there!"
I got caught away from home (and my precious O2) while
standing in line at the bank, one afternoon. Ch quickly
expanded from a shadow to a 4-5 before I could get back
to the car.
In the car, I turned the AC to HIGH and hyperventilated the
cold-filtered, outside air while I tried to maintain my sanity behind
the wheel. Surprise...the CH began to abate, even allowing me
to make a quick stop (VERY quick) at the grocery enroute.
It finally caught up with me between the GS and home, but 20-minutes
of 100% O2 had me feeling like a human soon enough.
That's the ONLY time I ever slowed an attack by other than controlled
O2 or medications.
The idea? Came from this Board a few months ago, when another CHer
reported relief during hyperventilation.
