The Chat you're referring to was held about three months AFTER the convention site was already "voted" on by those on the board at the time it came about. Plans were already in the works for Vegas. The thing about that is that the following year, we will hold it somewhere else (to be voted on also), so the suggestions given in the chat room were not ignored by anyone.
As far as cliques go - yes, there are a few of us chronics that do post a lot. We've been here so long that we do "try" to help others that have problems that have been discussed in the past on the board by others.
There's been talk about "language" that excludes others, but those of us who've been here for a long time have picked up words from each other and just started using them without being aware of it (ie., clusterhead, shadows, etc). If you don't understand what is being talked about just ask. Someone will tell you what we're talking about.
With so many new people finding this board, it's hard to remember what's been discussed in the past and who was here at the time it was discussed. So unless someone asks a specific question they probably won't get an answer. We may have more grey matter than most people, but we don't read minds in cyberspace.
As far as OUCH is concerned - this idea of an organization for Cluster Headaches came up several months ago and there were a "few" people who took the "idea" of it and started "doing" something about getting it organized. Those "few" people are still working to get it up and running and are almost there. These "few" people have spent countless hours and money (their own) in between headaches, family and jobs to work on this project. If you want to consider this a clique then so be it.
I, for one, feel very protective of those on this board (old timers and newbies alike) and get my feathers up when someone tries to cast doubts about the intentions of anyone here.
I started to send you an e-mail, then decided that maybe this needed to come out in the open. If anyone on this board doesn't feel welcome or part of the Clique, then it's probably a personal problem because I've been here since before dirt and haven't seen anyone being excluded. No, I may not agree with you all the time, but I don't agree with anyone all the time (not even the "so called" Chosen ones here). This board is for ALL Clusterheads and will remain that way. If you don't feel a part of the family, then I'm sorry for you.
