I always referred to it as that "fuzzy - not all there" feeling. Not really a "headache" just sorta a numbness. What I now call the "anti-headache". Feels like the brainwaves just aren't connecting at that spot - which just happens to be the same spot that at other times feels like someone is stabbing you with an icepick. When I am feeling like that it's almost impossible to complete a thought. I never knew anyone else had that feeling and associated it with the headaches (I tried to explain it to a neurologist once - not a good idea.
