Another part of this research was published in an obscure research journal which says--if I understand correctly--that cluster and migraine headaches share a common underlying process but involve different parts of the brain. Both types of headache appear to share a complex, not yet understood, involvement of nerves and blood circulation--migraine arising from the midbrain and pons, and with cluster, from the hypothalamic gray matter.
