Hi David,
I am a 60 year old female. I have had clusters since I was in my late 20's. I really thought they were history until this year. I have had total success with Bellergal and Inderol. I have read on this site that Inderal does nothing for clusters, but one fact seems sure. What works for one does not necessarly work for others. This combination was first given to me about 18 years ago. When I have my first headache of an episode, I begin the medication and within a week, I have no pain, sometimes very weak shadows, but at -1. I continue the meds for 3 months, the lenght of time my clusters last. Agian, it may not work for you. The last neuro I saw said it is a very old treatment, there are many new and better ones. From reading this board, I have learned these new drugs may not always work, or may work for one cluster and be useless when the next one strikes. For me this combo has worked without fail. To use an overused expression, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I simply refused to change meds and sailed through the three month seige.
I hope you find something that works for you - soon.
Barbara
