Deb, Congrats on anything to control the pain and improve his quality of life. I've done the GAMMIT and have been unsuccessful with the usual stuff and more. I finally found a doc who believes in quality of life...not first line stuff; of course. I chose Oxycontin (long acting Percocet without the Tylenol) and my day to day existence has improved greatly. I can also take Vicodin ES several times a day; as needed as a supplement. Yes, I still cluster but less. I also continue on abortives and research anything new. My abortives are now more successful. So, I definitely have improved and have faith that a remission can be around the corner......FINALLY. Personally, (I am a nurse...presently "diasabled") I didn't chose Methadone first line. It is a great drug but has a very long half life and can build up easily and take a more tedious process to detox....take off. My sure the doc is diligent in watching his liver function tests and generally watches him closely. I am so happy to here when anyone finds some peace....even on a day to day basis. Grab it and run. Congrats and keep up the great work and support. (Pat yourself on the back!) Please email me personally...anytime...reach out..yell..smile...whatever.. Take care, irene
Best wishes for a pain free existence for your whole family!
