We're much too polite on thia site to qualify as a really proper family. As a matter of fact I've always been surprised and impressed by the civility. Or anyway, the lack of incivility.
There used to be a cartoon in the papers called the Small Society, by somebody named Brickman. In one of the better ones two men are standing in front of the UN building in New York and one says to the other, "Why can't we just all get along like one big family?"
And the other one says, "We do."
