VERY well said, Derek! In fact, you're speaking of Jackie (the gal we thought had migraines). I've been talking to her via email and ICQ for the last couple of days and now I'm not so sure she DOESN'T have clusters. Yes, her attacks last a lot longer than the norm but that is really the ONLY difference. I asked her to compare her pain to childbirth and she said, childbirth was a breeze compared to this pain. That statement in itself is indicative of clusters. She does not have access to medical care but I've urged her to mention clusters to a doc the first opportunity she gets. Jackie is a really good lady who now feels totally shunned because no one here has tried to understand her pain. I am the first to admit that I thought she had migraines too but now I'm not so sure.
Jackie, if you're reading this, hang around and keep posting and reading.
It would be such a shame to think we have turned even just one person in pain away because of our quickness to jump and judge.
As far as criticizing cures, you're absolutely right, Derek. What works for some, doesn't work for others. It's the constant trial and error that we read about here that will someday lead us to a universal control for CH. Who are we to say that sticking frozen cauliflower up your nose isn't the answer? Or clicking your nice new red shoes together and reciting the national anthem backwards? Thanks for the timely reminder, Derek.
