Sorry about your "10" headache -- ouch!! I've had a few like that over the years, they're no fun at all. Imitrex nasal spray (or injection) will kill off the worst I've ever had in about 10 minutes. It's great.
The pharm info on Imitrex says that "the safety has not been established" for using more than four times per month on average, but it also says that it has not been established to be effective for clusters. My doc is OK with me using at my current rate of 3 to 6 per week, with an occasional two in a day. I use oxygen as the first line of defense, only use the drugs when the O2 fails me.
