Good afternoon,

It's the afternoon of the night before. You know what I mean--two hours of restless pacing, sweating, red-eyed horror staring back from a darkened mirror, and the blessed return of the world of the living. I'm more fortunate than most--my cycles come on as regularly as clockwork two years apart and last for a month. The visitor from hell only shows up every three to five days in the cycle. It's livable. I've elected to go without treatment for many years (I've been getting them for 31 years--I'm 44 now) because I've been reluctant to mess with what's going on--who knows whether something that affects the chemistry of what's going on is going to make it worse? I've long believed that there must be something profound going on--some obscure chemical imbalance that manifests over long periods. An allergic reaction. The pain may be only the most noticeable symptom of an underlying cause. Any thoughts on this? I'm not really looking for advice. It's just good to know that there are others who'll understand what I'm dealing with. I'm glad I found this site. My best to all of you. George O. Jacox, Boise, Idaho
